The multiple innovations that had to be overcome was tremendous and involved many different engineering fields.
Think of all the systems that have to work exactly so that man could make it to the moon?
Hey how about the millions of parts that have to work for the space shuttle!

Because they store and process great quantities of information, and extremely fast. And share knowledge like you are doing now using the Internet! How many lifes computers saved indirectly?

I was tempted to say the human body, but in the spirit of your question I would say the Pyramids because they were created when technology and supporting equipment were almost non-existent. It was an engineering feat of incredible dimensions.
