You are old enough to have sex when you are old enough to support a child. Birth control is not 100 percent effective, so every time you have sex, you are taking a chance on becoming pregnant. That is why many people wait until they are married. If you are simply looking for an age and not caring about the consequences, then perhaps 18 years old (when you are not a minor anymore).

Katy, to be frank with you, I read your question over and over and I can't help but noticed the innocense and transparency in your heart while posing the question. This is my sincere opinion to you. If you're below 16 presently, I think you should just forget about this matter completely for now. But if you're above 16 and around 18, you need to ask yourself this question: Is this guy really in love with me the same way I'm in love with him? If you can convincingly answer in the affirmative, then go ahead and have it. But if not, then forget about it, so that you don't nurse a regret throughout your life time. The choice is now yours but act right.

Well you pretty much answered your own question, when you mature both mentally and physically. Personally I'd say 18 and over would be a good way to go. I'm also speaking from experience...

Yes, maturity has a lot to do with it. I think when they are young adults, 17-18 years old.

I had sex for the first time at 12, I was way to young, but I thing 16-18 yr old range is best....

I had sex the first time at 12, but I dont really think that i was ready, i'd say 16 or 17.
