I've already worked with Norton and MCafee, the latter was not bad but Norton slowed my PC down overwhelmingly! + I really need it to be Free and trustable

You are correct. Both Norton and McAfee are definitely resource hogs, at least that is what I have read in recent Tech Report that I subscribe to.

Those same reports highly recommend AVG Antivirus as a very good antivirus and uses very little system resources compared to Norton and McAfee. You can set AVG for automatic daily scans; it will scan your incoming email for viruses, and it updates itself automatically. It's a great little program.

The FREE version is available from either of the two above sites.

Hope this helps.
