After Norton 2007 download I am now viewed as a 'visitor' by my HP system and cannot open my documents, or use several of my broadband services. Another example is that I have no influence over 'my accounts' etc...( using Windows XP). Have tried 're-booting' and turning off pop-up control, but no success. Someone please help!

Have you tried booting in Safe Mode, logging in to an admin account and seeing what you can do from there?
And did you download from the official Norton site? If you've paid for the software then you're entitled to support!

Norton seems to do strange things............... I recently got Talk Talk free broadband and it almost stopped my computer working, had to remove Norton and use another product to get the computer to work correctly again. I don't know why.

first uninstall the antivirus again.
then pull the plug from the internet so that you are not online.
then reboot your computer
if you still have problems call Norton and tell them - they have a support hotline thats free beacause you are a customer if you have bought it online.

**** if its pirate software it can contain virus!! beware!!!
