IF the price of oil goes through the roof, i will in a heartbeat no longer use my car for everyday use. I guess i would have to let my wallet do the thinking for materialistic things. If they had an unlimited low embodied source of fuel which is efficient like hydrogen cells and easy to produce without putting a lot of CO2 in the air, i would be pioneer number one.

HEll i am prepared. I have been saviing a fortune by riding a bike to uni. i get fit as well so i'm happy.

As far as global warming, traditional fuel sources and increasing petrol prices go, the way I see it there isn't going to be much choice apart from using the car less.

Owing to the increasing price of petrol, running a car is not as economically viable as it used to be. Secondly, traditional fuel sources are a major contributor to global warming. As this problem is becoming steadily more critical, it is important that we either find alternative ways to do things, or use alternative energy sources. At the moment, public transport, while still polluting, produces proportionely less pollution and can also be cheaper.
