it is

Biblical Kingship like Tribal status is always passed Paternally (though the father) that is why you never see a case in the Bible of a Davdic King's Son in law being the next King. The same thing with the Priestly class.

It is only passed from father to son. So if Jesus did not have a father he could not have been the Messiah.

oh and for Christians adoption dose not count. If it did then Samuel who was adopted by Eli the high priest would also be a priest. We see from the Bible that clearly did not happen.

Furthermore Moses would be an Egyptian because he was adopted by the Pharaohs daughter. Its kind of obvious that this did not happen either.

Hi, the Jewish lineage is always through the Mother, not the Father, in fact you are a Jew even if your Father is not as long as your Mother is Jewish.
Jesus fulfilled this pre-requisite by choosing to be born of the Virgin Mary, whose own lineage comes from the house of David.
good luck.

Its true that when you read the first chapter of Matthew that you find that it's Joseph who is in the lineage of David but Marie is also from the lineage of David.

Eventually some research has to be made on your side.

His lineage to the house of David is inherited from Mary, not Joseph. Read it again.

Thank you for this question.

In the Bible and in the Quran the lineage is through Mary (as).

Peace and Blessings,

Salim
