Well, with my bf when we first started really liking each other, we were talking one day and he said, "Do you have a bf?" And I said no. Then I asked him, "Do you have a gf?" and he said yes! I was kinda mad at him since he and I had been flirting a lot and getting to know each other for a while... Then he was like, "I'll tell you all about her. She is a beautiful angel and she has pretty dark hair, etc..." He was describing me!!! So I thought- I guess I DO have a boyfriend then :D So I think if you really like someone, and you are spending a lot of quality time with them, you should ask if they consider you to be a bf or gf, definitely!

At no stage does one ask the other "will you be my girlfriend/boyfriend?" unless you are still are playgroup! I think if you're a teenager you will know when the french kissing starts and if you're older you will know through experience and if you don't you aren't old enough to have a relationship like that!

they are friends at first then later on the guy courts the girl propose to her that he already likes her and the girl accept it and wants to commit in a relationship with the guy. that is the time one's female friend becomes "girlfriend" and when one's male friend becomes "boyfriend".
