Hi, nothing personal but don`t we all have this narrow view of church sometimes,we tend to forget that it is not a matter of getting something out of it, but giving instead.
as a Christian people Catholic or Protestant we come together in our respective churches to give praise and glory and thanksgiving to God for two special reasons.
1. because He is God and therefore worship is rightly due to Him.
2. to praise and thank God for all the wonderful things He has done for us.
it should not be our first intention to get something,(although God can and does bestow His grace at these times), but to reverence Him.
God bless.

Fellowship with other believers. A different perspective on what you are reading in your bible and what you believe. If you are studying your bible and getting teachings on-line perhaps, then maybe the church experience isn't needed as much for you. I get a lot out of my church visits. I don't know it all and haven't had the time to study my bible as in depth as I should, so getting it from a person who has probably spent the better part of their lives studying it, I do get enlightened. Just this past Sunday, I was shown what Psalms 22 was saying. It was David basically prophesying about Jesus and his death on the cross. That was many, many years before Jesus was even born.

I often wondered that myself. I tried church for a few years but I don't like going because of some of the people that I see outside of church. I have not been influenced by anyone enough to keep going to an organized religious place.

A social life. It has been shown in studies that people that attend church life a longer, healthier, happier life because of the support system it provides.
I don't know, but the study may or may not have been done by a religious group. I can't find the article on this at the moment but if I do I will send it to you, sorry.

A sense of community and enjoyable times with church related activities. Guidance from the pastor/priest and your peers. A comfortable place to offer your prayers surrounded by serenity. This is all beside what you can get from staying home - nothing needs to change there.

A lot of churches are just a big program, not a community. Maybe you should go and work at making church more of a community for you and others.

its in the spirit of good human nature to seek out like minded people.. We are people who thrive in togetherness. I think God wants us to be neighborly, socialize and get along and work together as a whole in this world.. If we did, there would be a whole lot more peace these days.. Even though we are getting closer through internet and media, we seem to be getting further apart as a society.. No one knows their neighbors anylonger, no one keeps in touch with family members anylonger. ... Whatever happened to the village helps each other mentality of ages ago.. We dont trust anyone nowadays.. .. so in all that I said... you can get alot from going to your church and meeting folks there..

The scriptures tell us that God said, Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together.
That was a command. There is a reason we meet...another verse says we incite each other to love and fine works.
Jesus met with his disciples and others....there was an exchange of brotherly love and fellowship.
You will feel good about yourself afterwards. It's a lively discussion of God and Jesus and how much they did for us.
It brings us back to our senses and helps us to see that we need God. And when we learn we can go out and teach others.
