I agree with the person above...do not support pet stores (you will be much more likely to have health/temperment issues with pet store dogs), and if you are going to get a puppy find a good breeder (this takes research but it will reduce the chance of health problems). That being said anytime you get a puppy its health is a question mark, and usually breeders just offer to replace the dog with a new one if it develops health problems (and it takes a pretty cold person to just trade their dog in for a new one). Usually youll see any health problems it will develop in the first couple of years, so one good way to avoid this is to talk to a rescue or look at petfinder and try to find a 1+ yr old dog. Sometimes breeders have adult dogs for sale also. Good Luck

all pets, especially dogs, can suffer from lots of different health problems, like humans. i wouldnt worry too much about it. if something did happen to the dog, it would most likely be in its old age.
i recommend buying from a breeder as opposed to a pet store. if youre buying directly from a breeder, inquire about the puppys parents, and what, if any, health issues they have.

The smaller the puppy the much more likely wellbeing disorders are to arise. Let's begin out by way of pronouncing "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "TEACUP" PUPPY". With that during brain, permit me say this; It turns out as even though there's a plethora of individuals who're insistent on shopping tiny dogs within the two to four pound variety. Also typically known as a "Teacup dog". The phrase "Teacup" has been used to simply describe the scale of a dog, which means it is extremely small and can customarily be underneath the commonplace measurement that's four to 7 kilos for the Toy Group, Yorkshire Terrier breed. We can't assume any one in need of whatever smaller than that! Their bones are VERY fragile and may also be damaged by way of leaping off of a sofa, falling off of a mattress, being stepped on or worse. Many breeders, even as tacking a whooping cost on a dog, "declare" to reproduce so referred to as "teacups" as though they have been a breed all their possess. Don't be fooled! They are NOT a breed in their possess. If a breeder says they specialise in "teacups" RUN, RUN, RUN for the hills! Most "TEACUP" dogs are sincerely, a untimely dog. Most ladies are bred at the 9th via the 15th day in their warmth cycles. Eggs may also be fertilized for as much as seventy two hours after any of those breeding's. Therefore, it's viable to have dogs conceived as much as per week or so more youthful than the dogs first conceived in a muddle. However, while the primary dogs conceived are mature and competent to be born, hard work begins and the entire dogs shall be born, regardless of once they have been fertilized. Some of the disorders that can be encountered are each genetic and congenital in those tiny toddlers and the record is a protracted one. The threat of open fontanels (delicate spot from the cranial bone now not forming), portosystemic shunts (PSS- irregular vessel that permits blood to avoid the liver. As a influence the blood isn't cleansed by way of probably the most our bodies filters: the liver.), hypoglycemia, cardiac disorders, collapsing trachea, luxating patellas, Leggs Calves Perthes sickness, seizures, hydroencephaly, blindness and digestive disorders may also be multiplied in those tiny toddlers. Problems reminiscent of respiration disorders can stay or aggravate during their lives. These toddlers quite often are so fragile that they don't reside quite a lot of years. There were a couple of tiny Yorkies as adults who nonetheless had open fontanels and their homeowners needed to deliver nourishment with them at all times. Their vets have felt it dangerous to deliver an entire dose of vaccine so the dogs needed to get a couple of injections to be at the trustworthy part. There is not any such factor as a "tea cup" Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, Poodle, or some other breed for that subject. They with no trouble don't exist. "Tea-cup" is only a advertising and marketing ploy given by way of unethical and unscrupulous breeders to force up the cost in their dogs! So referred to as "Teacups" fetch whatever from $a thousand to $10,000! This is ridiculous and shameful! There are plenty of chronically, dangerous dogs on the grounds that unscrupulous breeders and dog turbines are inbreeding. Some deficient darlings handiest reside for an excessively, very little while! They take the little teeny, tiny Yorkies and so they breed two one million/two pounders with three pounders ... good, they’re gambling with genetics. You must NEVER breed a feminine of any breed lower than five kilos. PLEASE train yourselves earlier than shopping a tiny dog whether or not this can be a Yorkie or some other breed. You would be in for months or years of heartbreak to not point out spectacular veterinarian charges! DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! IF YOU WANT A HEALTHY PUPPY, DON'T FALL FOR THE TEACUP ACT!
