i believe that we still are. everyone is a little psychic. what is dejavu? something that we dreamed that comes to pass?
why do we sometimes know who is calling before the phone even rings?
have you ever noticed how open children are? they haven't learned that these things don't exist.
as we age we stop believing in things until everything becomes coincidence.

It's said that our spirits first entered this world by living in
material things, and animals. And we enjoyed it so much we
stayed around too long and got trapped by the spiritual forces
that create our world.
Mythological beings were supposed to have really existed. Due to the mixing of our power and being in animals when the got
impregnated. The Bible mentions dragons, unicorns, and satyrs in Isaiah.
Some think the first cavemen like beings were actually more
aware on a psychic level. And there have always been the
few who learned the knowledge of magical/spiritual power.
The Egyptian priests did the first four things Moses did. Turned
staffs into snakes, and called up three of the plagues as well.
I know two guys who delivered some granite to a man. They
laughed when he said he would unload it himself. They watched
from around the corner and swear he started intoning some
sound and raised the granite slabs with just his hand on top
of it, and it floated to the ground!

You might wish to read Alan Watts "The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Really Are." If you can learn to see yourself, you will find that you couldn't be more magical than you already are.

There is no evidence of any age where any great powers existed that are lost to us now. It is pure fantasy.

No. I think people were more superstitious in the absence of science. We used "magic" to explain things that we didn't understand.
