That depends on which brakes you have, If you have crappy ones or lower end quality ones you will need an allen key, and if your doing work on your bike its a good idea to go to a hardware store and buy a good set of metric keys. Some Disks don't require tools like the Avid SD7's, for those all you need do is turn the big red knobs. Another course with Mechanical disks is the adjuster barel on your levers. Twist it out to tighten in to loosen. Just be careful with this adjustment

You need to use the allen key man....very annoying if you find yourself in a situation that you don't have it

what will you tight? get the manual, the bolts have specific torque force.
