this is what Soren Kiekegaard wrote about false Christianity.

When we receive a package we unwrap it to get at the contents. Christianity is a gift from God, but instead of receiving the gift, we have undertaken to wrap it up, and each generation has furnished a new wrapping around the others.

It's interesting that when I opened your question, Yahoo had an ad for the DaVinci Code.

Religion can convey power. Power corrupts. People react to the corrupt leaders of religion and set up a rival sect. This has been going on for nearly 2000 years and explains why Christianity is so diverse.

True Christianity is following Christ's teaching. False Christianity is using it as an excuse.

Here's a parable from Kierkegaard that may help to explain it:

"If someone talked with a wise man, and immediately upon the first words of the wise man, he interrupted him with his thanks, because he now needed no more help: what would this show other than that he did not talk with a wise man, but with a wise man whom he himself transformed into a fool?"

In false Christianity as could be taken from this, a man would see a church, enter, listen to the sermon, and take the host, assuming that this would give him a pleasant afterlife.

Kierkegaard's idea of true Christianity would seem to be the man who considers the sermons and scripture to find what it means deep within himself, the man who accepts the host only as an acceptance of the divine within himself, the man who actively seeks God rather than just going through the motions.

False Christianity is something which would spread easily, because it wouldn't require any thought--just a few casual gestures. Soren Kierkegaard warned about this, because from what I understand from his writings, he sometimes saw it in himself. He wanted people not just to listen and go through the motions but to really think for themselves in order to become true Christians.

The best way to found true Christianity is to find what God expect from us. You will not take all your time to study all religions and then find which one is true, at the end you will become mad.

Lets take en example if you've to detect false false money will you study all false money or will you learn all the characteristics of real money. Obviously you will gain time in studying the true one.

For religion its the same learn what God ask and you will be able to find the true by the fruits the religion produce. Just like a tree if a tree produce good fruits its a good tree but if it produce rotten fruits its a rotten tree. the fruits produce should be in accordance to what is written in the Bible.

Well I don't know if we are talking about the same thing here. But anyway, I received a leaflet through my door yesterday, titled 'Fake Religion', basically it describes 'fake religion' being the reason behind war and politics and terrorism! On reading this leaflet, it occurred to me, that the reason people hate religion seems to be all it stands for! The fake type! I'm not religious at all, but I find it interesting how religion has been used as a scapegoat for many acts of injustice and violence! Are we talking about the same thing? I would hate to be waffling on! lol

Jesus constantly defined these Himself.

Constantly, He called on the Hyppocrates to reveal themselves.

Many terrible things are done inthe name of religion, but the reality is those people are not living their religion.
They are false representatives of it.
False Christians give real Christianity, as Jesus lived and taught it, a bad name; and most people are not interested enough to really learn the difference; so to excuse theoir own poor behaviour in life, they use the excuse that religion is bad and causes wars, etc.

The reality is:
Those people who do atrocities in the name of Christianity are far from Christian or religious in their lives.
They make a mockery of religion and actually do it harm.

It sounds like some people are making their religion into what they want it to be.

We 'wrap' it up and give it to people in the way we want them to see it and understand it.

But that sometime can not be a bad thing. I read something and you read the same thing and we come out with two different ways of understanding it.
