It doesn't... and as a matter of fact it is the other way around: Atheism leads to belief in God when an athiest is honest and true to the facts. Whether that be protestantism or some other form of belief in God, the belief in God is inevitible to the honest person, because the clues to His existance are everywhere! And the more one tries to deny His reality, the more its veracity presents itself, so the only two choices left are being dishonest with oneself or accepting the truth.

Why do you assume that it does? I am a protestant Christian. I am neither delusional nor ignorant, but I will easily tell you that I will never be swayed from my belief system to change to any other. You assumption has no merit.
