Absolute waste of time! If you addup the cost buying the bars seperatly you are paying more, nevermind the fact that most of the bars you get in the box are SMALLER than the standard rate.

I always go to places like Wilkos, buy a gift bag and stuff it full of sweets and chocolates. you can get mini bags of haribo for 25p each and they have loads of stuff on bogof at the minute. Plus you can personalise it to who you're buying for. My little cousins love them, they make a nice change to rip off boxes.

Pretty but a waste of money, you pay a higher price for the boy and most of the time, the person who gets it does not like all of the things inside, you would be better to buy the sweet the person likes best and rap it up pretty yourself

Total waste of money. But it's one of those things I HAVE to put under the tree for my son, along with loads of annuals - and a satsuma and chocolate coins in his stocking.

Mind you, I end up eating most of the selection box myself - so it's not all bad :-))

Now try to imagine that you are the guy making up the selection box. What would you put into it (bearing in mind that nobody nowadays does anything without maximising the profit margin)?
When you've answered that one then ask yourself: "Would I buy my selection box?"
If you can say 'yes' then go ahead.

waste of time.... theyre normal chocolate bars, in big packaging with a bigger price.

i am also bitter about selection boxes....as my birthday is near xmas and everyone used to buy me selection boxes as a birthday present. despite me not liking chocolate.

They are expensive for what they are but they are a tradition for our children....and a quick simple gift for other children...I also wrap them up cos then they bulk out the christmas pressy pile.

There is always something they don't like so at least I get something out of them...Its also another way to control the sweet intake...big box little in it = happy faces all round

A bit of a rip off financially I think. Much better with tubes of sweets for the kids, Asda are doing three for two on these at the moment and there are loads of kinds, even Pink Smarties which I got all my nieces who will love them!

A con, the chocolate that comes in them can be bought singularly a lot cheaper and you dont have to pay for the extra packaging that selection boxrs come with.

Nice, if homemade,
otherwise, complete cop-out, at least put some effort in!
