i've heard that they are all volunteers, and also the contrary. How are US soldiers sent to Iraq? (sorry, I'm an European, I'm not aware of those issues)

Thanks for your help so far, I also wonder: since there's no draft, do soldiers get paid? is it a good pay?

If you are in the National Guard or reserves, you can volunteer or if your unit is mobilized, you can be sent. In the Active Forces, if tour unit is deployed, you go if you are part of that unit. But there have been more people that volunteer to go, in the Active, reserve and national guard, than the Korean War and the Viet Nam War.

There is no draft in U.S. So troops are volunteers to serve in uniform. Once they volunteer they can be sent to any country including Iraq on orders.

regardless of how we view our troops in Iraq, i'd wager it is extra significant how the Iraqis viewing our troops in Iraq. And something of the Muslim countries. certainly there are some Iraqis and Muslims who see their females and young infants being blown up, and characteristic the violence to our presence. and each son or daughter that gets blown up has a kinfolk. And a sort of kin would be mad adequate to combat lower back. in the event that they think of the blood is on OUR palms, we only made yet another terrorist. extra suitable by potential of sort of civilian deaths divided by potential of a sensible parent who've a minimum of one relative loopy adequate in charge us and definitely do something to retaliate...i'd say by potential of the time it is throughout, there will be so plenty extra terrorists in Iraq than as quickly as all of us started this mess. and that i gotta say, we are there lower back for what? I bear in techniques the 9/11 hijackers being Saudis...yet i assume they get a bypass. no longer that i theory retaliation replaced into the ultimate thought. (yet mom!! He hit me first!!!) Like spoiled sons and daughters, and an limitless, mindless cycle.

To tell you the truth most of the soldiers are coming straight out of high school where recruiters have a right without consent of the parents to get the children to sign up with visions of sugar plums in their heads.A lot are compulsory.

they were duped. told they could get education.
most voluntary enlistments tapered off once it became clear they would go to war. that is why the same troops keep getting sent back over and over again. soon they will all be dead so we will start up the draft.
