I mean when a girl likes a guy, will she really wait for the guy to make the move? As in she won't initiate the conversation (even though she knows that the guy is online, she still won't drop a message)?

How do you know that the girl really likes the guy? Did the girl said something to the guy already? If not, how does he exactly know or be sure that the girl is interested in him? Anyway, most ladies will not take the initiative to talk or start a conversation to ask the guy out, but as for chatting, I think it's perfectly fine! I think the lady is not really interested in the guy, coz if it's not that hard to start a topic with the guy actually. If she's interested in the guy, any topic is fine as long as they can get the ball rolling! Well, are you the guy, if not why are you so concern? Well, if she doesn't drop you any message, then you can actually start to message instead, why wait here & there? Nothing's wrong! Anyway, let's put it if the girl likes the guy, it's really normal for ladies to take a back seat, normally girls like guys to take initiative, it's more appropriate & more gentlemen, it also doesn't cause the ladies to lose their faces too. It's quite shameful if the guy reject their conversations. Do you get what I meant?

if shes a real lady/ girl, she waits for the guy to make the 1st move, most guys dont know how to be gentleman, open doors for the females, buy the drinks, ask what they want to do. i can understand y but some guys need to give other girls a shot in life, by the sounds this guy doesnt like this girl that much otherwise he would have made the 1st move ages ago, most girls can tell if the guy isnt interested, we dont wait around forever you know?!?

Even though modern age girls have the courage to say or do what they want. There are those who are still modest. Maybe she is busy with other things and is not really in-front of her computer. Are you sure she is there?
This is my question to you-> why are you waiting for her to start the conversation? Why don't you to start it yourself?

Firstly saying all girls are like this is generalising. It all has todo with confidence. personally im rather shy so if it is a guy i like i will not drop the first msg online unless it has been about ten mintues since he has signed in and he has not already said hello to me. confident girls will drop you a msg when u sign in.
Who ever this girl is why don't you say hello first, it will make her feel very special

Well, some girls are like that and some don't.. It's hard to tell.. Not unless the guy's the first one to approach her and start a conversation.. Maybe this girl is the shy/conservative type.. Who knows?

Yes girls are really like this. As men or boys depending on age it is our duty to initiate the conversation. it is our duty to go after the girl not the other way around.

Well, usually it is like this. Girls will usually wait for the guy to make the move. Maybe she is busy chatting with too many friends and did not notice you on msn? It seems like you may need to boost your courage and ask her out instead ^_^

These days, girls are very daring & "cheapskate"to make the first move to the guy.But if the girl is pretty its ok, but if she is fat,plump short or ugly, they will definietely turned we guys away.
So all the girls out there, know yr limits before eneded up like a ***** w./o brains

Right! Just like she'll wait for HIM to ask her to dance,...etc. it's an ego/shyness game. You need to ease her shyness by boosting her ego... besides women are taught by society at a young age that a woman never makes the first phone call...it looks "desperate" or emotionally "unstable". Always let him pursue you first, or he won't be interested. (my mothers words)
