I mean when a girl likes a guy, will she really wait for the guy to make the move? As in she won't initiate the conversation (even though she knows that the guy is online, she still won't drop a message)?

Probably she's quite shy in nature...
some girls do( i mean MOST) do like and want men to make their first move...coz it seems nice to the girls...and they like gentlemen-price charming though...
past few experience of mine , i've actually lost a few NICE GIRLS...which they always give me hints to make the first move...but it's too late coz i dun realized it till now hehe ^_^
so appreciate her by making a first move...it's like a FIRST GIFT to them...and they'll remember it for the rest of their lives...and will recall it from time to time just to TEST u whether u love them or not HAHA..........
Try first, and see how the girl reacts...if everything is going as it should be...then CONGRATZ!!!

She may be brought up to believe that good girls don't chase boys. Try asking her why she won't initiate conversations. You could try asking her if she's interested in you.

Yes.. And it doesn't get any better. Once you catch her, you are suppose to be a mind reader because she won't come out and tell you what she wants, you have to guess and for each wrong answer she will punish you mentally. It's all your fault.
