Will the luggage compartment get decompressed during the flight causing the cans to pop or leak? And would they be allowed on cabin baggages?

Thanks for your answers. it looks like liquids are banned on hand baggages. The whole point is that I'm going to a place where liquor is banned, but you can get them in through the airport. Done it b4 and plannin to do a better job this time hehe.
Just thought that cans would weight less than bottles.

If you are departing from the US, you will not be able to carry them on board because you can't bring liquids through security. You could theoretically check most liquids... including soda or beer cans.... as in the airline would allow it (I've put plastic bottles in my checked luggage several times) but I wouldn't recommend it for cans. Even if the pressure in the baggage compartment doesn't affect the cans, they can become punctured very easily. One time I had a can of soda in my carry-on bag (before the ban on liquids) and it got punctured and leaked.....and I would imagine that checked baggage gets thrown around a lot more than carry-on so it's even more likely that cans will leak in checked baggage. So basically, I wouldn't do it. Incidentally, I put plastic bottles of Diet Pepsi in my checked baggage fairly often when I fly and have never had a problem (I'm an addict and need it whenever I travel... I admit it!)

New airline regulations for the EU (Nov 6, 2006) say that NO FLUIDS are allowed in handluggage, exept for a minimal dose of cosmetics and medication (100mg per liquid).

You may want to check what the newest regulations on this are in your country (you did not say. US?)

Call your travel agent or the airline company, am sure they can inform you.

However, you do get drinks on board of the plane..........

Have a nice trip!

I do not know if you are ALLOWED to carry them on, but on one of the few flights I took they served Coke out of a can.
