Cranberries are so good for urinary tract infections. They have ingredients that incapsulate the bacteria so it cannot attach and multiply, and so that you can easily urinate the bacteria out.
Any form will do - cranberry pills, cranberry juice (try and find something with as little sugar as possible), or just plain cranberries.
Up your water intake so that you are peein like a mad man! Once the pain goes away, continue with the cranberry/water regimen for a few more days.
And please, look into some more flexible health insurance, I'd hate for you to get the flu or something and not be able to get a doctor's appointment. :(

Drink a ton of cranberry juice, unsweetened [or the OceanSpray Diet, i like that better, it's naturally sweeter] and a lot of yougurt, the new Activa is best since it's got a lot of the cultures needed to support a good UT, stop drinking any orange juice, it hurts when you pee it out, and drink lots of water. [you should be peeing at last 5 times a day, at the least] wear a pantiliner and change it often. If it doesnt go away in a week and a half, go to the health department and tell them you need treatment right away or you're going to the ER. If they refuse, it's to the ER, it could develop into a bladder or kidney infection = BAD.

Drink heaps of water or drink, it works trust me. If that's the one you keep wanting to go pee every five seconds but nothing happens and is really uncomfortable.
You can also try cranberry juice but I tried it and it worked just as well as water for me. Plus I think water was easier, I don't go grocery shopping often. Hope you get well.

Take: • Drink a lot of fluids, such as herbal teas and water. Avoid sweetened fruit juices and other sweetened drinks.
• Cranberries and blueberries contain substances that inhibit the binding of bacteria to bladder tissue. Drinking unsweetened cranberry juice regularly helps lower the risk of UTIs.
• Eat antioxidant-rich foods, including fruits (such as blueberries, cherries, and tomatoes), and vegetables (such as squash and bell peppers).
• Eat more high fiber foods, including beans, oats, root vegetables (such as potatoes and yams), and psyllium seed.
• Use healthy cooking oils, such as olive oil or coconut oil.
• Drink 6 - 8 glasses of filtered water daily.
• Exercise at least 30 minutes daily, 5 days a week.
Avoid: • Try to eliminate potential food allergens, including dairy, wheat (gluten), corn, preservatives, and food additives.
• Avoid refined foods, such as white breads, pastas, and especially sugar.
• Reduce or eliminate trans fatty acids, found in commercially baked goods, such as cookies, crackers, cakes, French fries, onion rings, donuts, processed foods, and margarine.
• Avoid coffee and other stimulants, alcohol, and tobacco.

Cranberry and fresh unmatured Coconut water will do miracles! just pick your choice. and you have to drink lots and lots of water. It helps me a lot! be careful in drinking Vit. C. It add pains on your tummy. Not good for UTI. So take note of the juices you drink especially fruits that has lots of Vit.C like oranges and guavas! WATER can do miracles here. Works for me... probably works on you too!!!

cranberry juice and lots of it. go to the section at the stores where they have all of the different pills and vitamins and I think you might be able to find cranberry pills as well, buy them and take them as directed, if not more than directed, ask a pharmacist at say wal mart or something if he or she could suggest anything else
