Look Schatzioma, you question is posed in a nice way so I will answer it in a nice way. As to question #1 and #2, it's not the Americans responsibility to give the poor of the world jobs. There is only so much room in this country, we can't take every poor person on earth. Our resources are finite. As for #3 I and others have complained in this forum many times about corporate greed and the immigration issue. Corporations share at least as much blame as anyone. #4 and #5: Many Americans would make much more money if not for being undercut by cheap foreign labor. I know, I know, the corporations are as much to blame as immigrants. We do blame our government, but it does not listen. #6: Politicians are bought and paid for, Republican and Democrat alike. No major party represents the true interest of Americans on this issue (this could change). Finally, we welcome all immigrants, as long as they obey the law and enter legally.

1. do you really think that people would leave their home country if
they have such a good life, jobs etc?
They should work to make their country better, if they don't want to follow American laws and come here legally
2. would these people not be stupid to grab their chance for a
better life when possible?
If they want such a better life and not be hassled they would come legally
3. why do i never read complaints about companies hiring these
"illegals" and pay them little money cash? Those companies deserve to be punished too
4. can the usa afford to replace all these jobs done by "illegals"
paying minimum wages? Yes
5. would there even be enough americans to do all these kind of
jobs? Americans were doing them before so why not?
6. why not blaiming your goverment for the current situation?
you live in a democracy, can vote and demonstrate. I do, but also the illegals, they make the decision to come here illegally
7. were not all americans beside the indians immigrants one day
Those of us who are here legally are Americans, some one who is here today, who's family can be traced back here hundreds of years ago certainly is not an immigrant imo

1) Yes.
2) They can do that in their country...just like the poor of this country could do. I hear how people talk about the homeless that live right here in the US. "They should just get a f'in job!" The illegals that come here are not even homeless. Tell me who has it worse!
3) Why...because illegals get what they deserve. Companies know they can pay them less because HELLO they are not US citizens!
4) Don't be a dolt. If companies had to pay US citizens a decent wage to do the jobs that illegals are doing for "minimum wage" our economy would improve! US citizens, who still outnumber illegals by some miracle, would have more money to spend...hense...our economy would blossom.
5) R U serious? Do you know how many unemployed, on welfare, homeless and part time workers are out there? And guess what...they are legal citizens.
6) Yeah...its a shame our government has to pay out over 30 billion dollars just to keep the perpatrators out. Listen...these illegals know what they are doing. They are responsible for themselves and their actions. For example: I cannot say "Oh crap...I got a speeding ticket...its my governments fault." There is such a thing as 'responsiblilty for ones self.'
7) Ok...I really cannot understand this one BUT what I think you are trying to say is that the only true Americans are Native Americans or "Indians". This is the most ignorant remark anyone can make. I was born here to legal parents...my parents were born here to legal parents...their parents were born here to legal parents and so on. I am definately a citizen of this country. You have a lot of nerve to say otherwise.

1. No I don't. But there are legal ways of doing this and they need to do it legally. Better yet how about fighting for rights in their own country?
2. Agree but we don't have to like it.
3. Very good point. I agree 100% In fact Americans need to stop doing business with these companies who hire illegals and who outsource to other countries. Getting rid of US jobs in the process. Will this happen? Most likely not.
4. Yes they can. We have plenty of people wanting jobs with a salary they can live on. These companies are more worries about their profits.
5. Yes there are plenty of Americans who can do the work
6. Yes they are at fault also.
7. Yes we were immigrants at one time but it doesn't mean we shouldn't have rules.

I agree with everything except #7. Yes, all Americans were immigrants at one point, but in a different sense. Our ancestors immigrated when the United States weren't even the United States. It wasn't an independent nation. But now, we as a society have a thing called LAWS. Laws are created so a society can uphold itself. Without them, it will collapse. The people who were born in America are lucky. The people who were born in Mexico are unlucky. Life isn't fair.
I don't blame the illegal aliens for wanting to sneak across the border. (But they do create animosity by attacking those of us who oppose their "right" to break our laws.) I blame the U.S. government for not securing the border, and the Mexican government for not supporting their citizens. Mexico is the richest country in Latin America, yet its citizens are some of the poorest around. Hey Mexico: take some of that money, and USE IT.
May God help all the poor people looking for work.

Congratulations Schatziom, for posting some very intriguing questions. I especially like 3, 4, 6 and 7.
Six and seven are real gems. If only we would be honest with ourselves, but alas, there always have to be scapegoats--the weak and disadvantaged--that is the way of the bigot.
Your questions six and seven really make the point. We are, after all, a nation of immigrants.
The reality issue is finding WORKABLE solutions to immigration. I propose that law breakers should be deported, period. Productive immigrants should be allowed to assimilate. Before the rhetoric starts about 'illegals' automatically being 'law breakers' consider:
Legality is not the issue as your question #7 points out (other than Native Americans who is 'legal???') Consider also the question of the acquisition of Texas by the US. Does a military general really have the power to cede any portion of his nation to another country? The answer is NO. And what happened to the monies promised Mexico for the annexation of other parts of the Southwest? Was it ever paid or was the whole thing written off as a war debt?
In any case, the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo states plainly in our own language and according to our own terms that:
(ARTICLE I)
There shall be firm and universal peace between the United States of America and the Mexican Republic, and between their respective countries, territories, cities, towns, and people, without exception of places or persons.
**************************************************
And we have so-called 'patriotic Americans' who want to erect watchtowers and gun down people attempting to cross the river. You give human beings a bad name!
Finally, for those who say that 'they' are taking our jobs and abusing our welfare systems (truth is Americans are the worst offenders in this category) I say:
Refer to your question #3 and #6 above.

The problem of Illegals is a smoke screen. If we really wanted to solve the problem of too many illegals here and the costs involved, we need only save a bunch of money, not hire an army of border guards, not build a very expensive "Berlin Wall" on our border, and just go after the employers who hire them at great profit for themselves. If we fined the employers enough, they would not hire illegals and the problem would end. But Tyson foods, Las Vegas, etc, etc, make big contributions to Washington and have ;plenty left over to bribe the few inspectors there are to make sure the real issue is never addressed. No Mexican is going to leave his home, cross the border, and live in towns that don't welcome them only to find there is no work. The real problem is here in the US. We need to wake up, get informed, and demand real enforcement from the people we have hired to take care of this. Mexicans are just here to make a living. There is nothing wrong with their desire to get ahead.

Here's one reason: they're here illegally!!!!!
Want another reason: Here is what happened this morning, to a friend of mine from Phoenix AZ:
I have had a bad day. I was at a light when a undocumented person hit me in the rear. My truck is totaled and he did not have any insurance and was not here legally. They let him go because they can't hold an illegal that is a immigration offense and only a federal crime. I had to rent a car to drive while my insurance company looks into it. They don't believe that my insurance will completely cover the cost of replacing my vehicle.
