I like this particular guy who can really communicate with me, advice me and understand me. No other guy friends i knew treat me like that. They are usually quite childish and love to gossip and joke behind my back. I am 18 years old now and really don't know how to confront the guy i like and don't know whether he has any feelings for me too. Am i too young and is he too old? Help???

8 yrs apart is not that great

What I see here is a young school gal meeting a mature working adult, of course all your frens will be of no match to his mentality, he has already gone thru 8 years which you & frens did not.

Just continue to be fren and get to know him better, take your time, you are only 18 !

You can never really controll who you have affection for or not. The age doesnt matter so much as the maturity level of the people involved. However, you have to consider the possibility that he may not be interested in anything more than the friendship you now share. Before getting too developed emotionally yourself, talk with him without the otheres around. One other thing you should consider based on what you wrote, are your other male "friends" really friends if they gossip about you etc? Just talk to the guy before you become too personally invested because either 1) he will accept the change in you relationship and you can grow into it to gether or 2) He will not be interested and your fall (emotionally) won't be so severe. Good luck.

there is nothing wrong with liking, unless ur liking is taking you into loving this boy, do you have a young bro.? how old is he? am sure if you have your immediate young bro. must be older than the boy that u like and do u think is going to accept ur situation? My advice is that as much as age difference matter less it shouldn't be your case, maybe give it a time untill the boy is mature and is about18-20yrs somewhere there. This time i can assure you the age difference is going to be noticed and people will start suspecting you of being desperate etc............

Hi Daffy

No worries. Age is only a barrier if you think it is. Seems like your problem is not so much age than how to figure out if the guy likes you too / how to tell him.

Well don't fret too much about it. I guess once you figure that you'd like to explore something with him, you can drop subtle hints or pick up cues from conversations.

Take it naturally. Good luck! : )

My husband is 6 years older than me. I think if you have found someone that really clicks with you, tell him how you feel, make him feel like he is special and see how that goes. I asked my husband out right if he wanted to go out with me one day when he was hanging around watching me and it has been a true love story ever since.

My partner and I have 8 years diff btween us and we have been together for 8 years so far and are getting married. It's not weird as long as you's love eachother and are happy. Your not to young, your 18 that's two years older than I was when I met my fiance. If you love love him then go for it.

No, of course! The gf is 8 years old younger than me too (She is 27 years old). Most important is how you feel for each other.

its kinda creepy. I understand your reasons though. my advice...keep looking for sombody a little closer to your age with the maturity your looking for...he'll come along. But if you really have feelings for him...I've never let age get in the way of what I wanted. I guess its ultimately a question your gonna have to answer for yourself.

No, it's not. But you have to wait until your age is 20 years old. In that time you will adult enough to find and decided if someone appropriate to become your boyfriend/husband/soul mate.
