I am being marked as "serious" person at work. I'll be angry over my colleague or things that annoy me. That leads to problems like no talking to my colleague, for instance.

Recently, I was shouted by my colleague because I have forgotten to do my part of work. I was embarrased in the public. I hate her so much that i think everyone heard us would have know.

If being serious is not right, how can i avoid being serious?

Its a question of ego, really. If you look at it this way, it will be easier not to lose your temper and laugh a little -- at other people as well as yourself. Its interesting, but people are really at their weakest when they get angry!

Being serious has its own place and time, like when you're with some unfamiliar people in a business meeting. Or when meeting strangers.

Don't take getting shouted at or embarrassed as an offence, or a slight affront to you especially when you're a professional. The key word is tolerance. Be firm in dealing with people who're over-the-top assertive and domineering. Remember that when you react the way they expect you to, you're fair game.

Always try to do your best. Always keep focused especially if your work is delicate.

And try to keep at least two or three co-workers as friends.

Reach out. Chat if you and the others have time.

Even offering help to other co-workers who you think need you but are averse to ask will lead you in the right direction.

Good luck.

Just try and relax more. Try keep a smile on your face and look at the funny side of things. Keep your conversation with your colleague light-hearted and pleasant and I'm sure that's what you'll get in return. As they say, "Don't sweat the small stuff." It might be difficult at first, but just keep trying and then see the difference in the people around you. Good luck.

Maybe you are a bit too serious. A sense of humor can go a long way. Try to enjoy living a bit.

being serious is not bad. but you must control yourself in a way that you can't hurt other people's feelings. you can be serious in things but scolding your colleagues is a bad thing. you must also understand their part as a person. it's not only them who commits mistakes, you do too. you can't avoid seriousness. you can just control it.

Lighten up a bit, smile more, and remember what they say-that life is short...so don't waste it taking everything seriously.
