I don't think there are any direct references to Jesus condemning homosexuality, but there are other things in the Bible. Which is considered to be the word of God, which is why churches consider it to be the law.

However, there is also a lot of other nonsense in the Bible that they seem to let slide eg. women covering their heads in church and not speaking. The Old Testament in particular is really used as the church fancies - I, for one, have never been made to stay in the house while having my period and I can't remember the last time we sacrificed a goat for the sins of the village.

In my opinion, there are a lot of churches (not all, there are many that are very liberal and accept homosexuals - even into the ministry) that use the Bible as they see fit. Forgetting that what was needed 2,000 years ago does not work for our society today. For example, it makes sense to discourage homosexuality when you need to make the tribe stronger and bigger because there is only one way to make babies. So you can understand why the early Christians and Jews would make it law. But now, we have too many people in the world, a few less is probably a good thing. So the laws can be relaxed and changed and embrace how society is.

Also, everyone in this argument seems to forget that Jesus' main message was love, that we should love one another no matter who that person was (race, gender, social standing etc). So wouldn't he be happy that people were loving each other, even if it was with someone of the same sex? But anger and violence and suppression, I'm not sure that was ever his message.

Perhaps not directly, but a direct condemnation is found in Romans 1 vs6,27, but you have to look up as many translations as you can to get a full flavour of the scriptures. There is also a condemnatory reference in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 vs9,10. Since, as 2 Timothy 3:16 says that all scripture is inspired of God, these verses have as much wieght as any other. Homosexually was also condemned i the Mosaic Law. Sodom and Gommorah were destroyed by being executed by God because of thier violence and sexual misconduct, including homosexuality. 1 Corintians 6:9,10 also says that this is how some of the Corintians acted, but they had been washed clean or purified depending on which translation you use. Homosexuals are not themselves condemned and it is not right for us to persecute them for their life choices - it is the homosexual act itself that is condemned.

As far as I know, Jesus didn't mention it. So the homophobes rely on the Old Testament, which - it's true - does clearly say that laying with a man as you lay with a woman is an abomination (Leviticus 18:22).

Fair enough. But it also says that eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev 11:12). And so is a woman wearing man's clothes (Deuteronomy 22:5). And a whole bunch of other innocuous things.

Odd, isn't it, that Christians are so keen to follow the Bible on some things, but not others.

The bible relies on other people telling Jesus' story so the answer (by default?) is that Jesus didn't say anything regarding anything let alone homosexuality and we've all been told not to believe gossip which let's face it is all the gospels are?! So no. If you believe that the gospels are true words and thoughts of Jesus then that would be a no too.

I don't remember Jesus directly condemning homosexuality but he did believe and preach the Bible to be the word of God. If you believe on Jesus, you must also believe in the Bible and its teachings.
1 Corinthians 6:9 (Whole Chapter)
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders.

Ever read the story in the Old Testament about Sodom and Gomorrah? These were two cities in which all sorts of sexual misconduct were rampant and the Scripture speaks of how in their unrepentant ways, God rained fire and brimstone upon them and utterly destroyed them so that they would not be remembered anymore! So I'd say yes, God directly condemned homosexuality! As far as the NT is concerned, the Scripture says in Romans chapter 1 that ".....men would leave the NATURAL USE and affection of the woman, WORKING THAT WHICH IS UNSEEMLY (unnatural)....." It's not as strong of a judgment as what was levied against Sodom and Gomorrah, but it is no less condemning.

Jesus never even mentions homosexuality any where in the bible.
The towns of Sodom and Gomorrah according to the bible were full of homosexuals which was the reasoning for their destruction. There are several other incidents indicating homosexual activity. These incidents were written by authors known and unknown such as Moses and Paul to name a couple.

No, Jesus never, ever, condemned homosexuality. He never addressed it. However, Paul condemns homosexuality; and, as Paul claims to "speak Christs'c commandments," it is widely believed, therefore, and soley by proxy, that Jesus condemns homosexuality directly through Paul.

No, the Gospels do not report any single word of Jesus on homosexuality. The rule comes from the Old Testament.
