I have seen hostility on this site from every type of person, Christian, Atheist, Muslim, Agnostic, etc.

There is no trend where there is more hostility in one group, that I am aware of.

Most people here are polite. Maybe you've just been on when things were really bad or something.

Its interesting! When I read your question I assumed you were talking about Muslims being the hostile ones.

I attempted answering out of a feeling to defend Islam.
and that's just it, thats the answer to your question, as people tend to get very defensive when it comes to their own beliefs or when when they feel that they as a group or as members of a certain religion, are being attacked and that they need to get up and defend!
and defending as an action is usually a response to an offense from out side

I don't know if this answers your question but my self as a Muslim I see us as very defensive and hostile when it comes from other beliefs.

Now, if i can leave you with one message about Muslims, its that not to lump together the 1.2 billion Muslims that are just regular people all over the world. honest and hard working families with the few aggressive ones that go out and terrorize the world, their world more so than the rest of the world.

We believe in Islam, Christianity and Judaism under one god! what ever you call him

Its funny but most people don't know that Moslem's have the same expectation as Christians and Jews that Jesus will come back one day and save the people and guide them back to the path of Peace!

Now if you don't believe in Religions, but have the interest to know more about Islam, i would suggest visiting this site.

A true Christian will answer your question with love, kindness, and respect. I too have read some questions and answers on Y/A that do not represent Christians well. I have also read some questions and answers from people of all faiths (or no faith at all), that I consider rude and disrespectful.

I love this open forum and the free exchange of ideas and information. As far as violations go, we have all received more than our fair share. That is a Y/A problem, not a religious issue.

I try to conduct myself in a way that others will say, "Wow! Who is her God? I want to know more!" A true Christian will not try to shove the Bible down your throat; they will give you the Good News of the Gospel, and trust the Holy Spirit to work on your heart.

If anyone is hostile to you in the name of Christ Jesus, send them to me to be properly rebuked.

Because they are taught that the non-Believers are stupid and must convert. Because if they leave any heretic unburned or un- converted, then they have failed and will not enter Heaven. Scary thought. But then again, sometimes the non-Christians are just as rude. Depending on the rudeness of the question, I cannot seem to muster the energy to be BUT rude or sarcastic back. And for that I do apologize. Sometimes its hard to rise above the masses and to be kind when one could kill.

'Religious' people are not the only ones on this site who are rude and hostile. As a matter of fact, I find that the most vulgar comments come from those who are either trying to berate Christians or those just trying to be funny. Let's hope, for their souls' sake', they will see the 'Light' before Judgment Day.

They know they can insult people as they please, and Yahoo will do nothing. They file false violation reports. Christians attack non-Christians with impunity. The call me evil and that I am going to burn in Hell forever, just because I am an agnostic. A Harris Poll recently said that 42% of Americans aren't sure there is a God. Yahoo Answers doesn't care about that 42%.

i'm an quite "religious" individual and that i do no longer deliver emails of that nature different than to very particular persons that i think of ought to take exhilaration in them, or maybe then i'm rather careful of which emails I deliver. easily, I infrequently forward something. LOL. i do no longer think of it may be impolite in any respect to ask her to provide up. i do no longer understand how she'll take it. i'm hoping she does not sense harm. even though it particularly is thoroughly interior the bounds of lifelike to request which you no longer join that distinctive mailing checklist. it particularly is my opinion.

And what makes you think they are religious? Because they said so? Do you always believe what someone tells you on an anonymous Internet site?

I was raised in a Christian home.
I was taught to Fear God for he was a vengeful God.
I was taught to Fear Satan for he was evil.
I was taught to Fear the eternal fire of hell.
I was taught to Fear non-Christians for they were dangerous to my salvation.

It's not that Religious people mean to be hostile....they've learned to fear anything that is not "the same as them". Fear is the opposite of Love. Love listens and understands and knows there is nothing to fear.....Love is from God. Fear is man-made.

Peace!

I don't agree with that, I think you are disrespectful of Christians
We love God and are called to his purpose and plans
I have not seen that anywhere at all
I have seen a lot of bashing Christians and asking questions to try to lure them in and trap them, it's like a conspiracy against Christians
Because we speak the truth and lie not.................
