When they put you on the defensive and you have to try to PROVE something to the person. Maybe they want you to explain why you did something. Or, they might ignore you because of something you did or said. Or, they may act as if they're disappointed in you because of something you did or didn't want to do. Most people do it because they're either spoiled and want to have their way. Or, sometimes just because they want to manipulate you or your decisions. It's a mind game. If you feel bad - but you're not in the wrong - then they win.

When you feel guilty for doing something and your intention in doing it was not to cause anyone harm. If your intentions were good, they are wrong for making you feel guilty.

They are using emotional reasons to try and convince you of something. They want you to feel bad for them, and make you feel like you owe them.
