I don't know what Vaxin is, so this may not be relevant. But I think some people really are "needle freaks." That is, it's almost more the needle than the drug it shoots. They get into the ritual of it, they have a touch of masochism, and they love the risk.
Because of course there is a risk. Any time you puncture your own skin, you risk all sorts of consequences. You really need to know what those risks are before you decide they are worthwhile.
Personally, I consider needle freaks to be part of what a lawyer friend of mine called "felony stupid." That is, so stupid, they end up being charged with a felony without malice, but sheer stupidity.
He also used it to refer to things which are so stupid they ought to be felonies, whether or not they are.

it's not about injecting something into your body, it's a drug. ok maybe I should explain so that you can understand
you know when you have like 10 soda's in one day and you feel all giggly and hyper and you want to jump up and down and you feel soo
happy, well imagine that times one thousand, that's how heroin makes you feel. and since it makes you feel so good, you want to feel that way all of the time, so much that it's all that you think about. so you'd kill your own grandmother just to feel that way again.
