I just wanted to see if anyone found one for a good price and did a great job. The only ones I find are around 500 and that is alot and I have no clue how good they will be. (I actually live in Concord. But Charlotte usually comes out.) Thanks

Go to www.theknot.com and look for DJ's in your area, once you have a few you like call them and ask about previous customers, if they are any good they won't refuse to give you numbers of people they have played for, ask as many people as you need and let them know you want to go see them in action in a wedding, they should have no trouble asking the bride and groom on your behalf to let you watch them (no drinking or eating...) and that way you can have a clear picture if what they are charging is really worth it or not.
I did all of that for my wedding and the DJ was really great, doing the research was exhausting but well worth it.
Good luck!

You know, I just went to a wedding and they spent $1500 for a band that played only half the time. The other half was an Ipod running through their sound system. They were mad!

I had my nano with me and after the band finished their last set, I plugged it in and played so many songs they didn't think of.

Get someone you know to do it. You could rent equipment cheaper than a DJ and have the songs you want on an Ipod.S et up playlists in the order you want. Print off a list of when certain songs play that match with what's in the Ipod. I'm doing that at my wedding.
