I have seen many Asian girls, mainly Chinese girls, have American or Australian slang’s but at times some are just fake. Why are they doing it? I find that annoying at times, and I prefer the original cute Asian slang from them. Most people would call them show offs or some just ‘high class’. What do you think?

I hate it when people put on a fake American accent. it sound like they trying too hard, or trying to be American. I can understand if they have lived there for a while, & start talking that way, but faking it, Oh no!!

No, its not fake , but rather learnt. For example , in India, girls have learnt how to change their accent into American , because of call- -center jobs, which they have.It is not show -off. Maybe they are trying to impress you.

i was born in australia and we were the only asians in town, i suppose u get use to it..like the slangs and ****. haha, i cant even speak chinese cos i grew up surrounded by the aussie culture. so yeah..

Yes, most of them try so hard to sound westernised lol. It makes them feel good, so let them.
Some just learned from their Caucasian friends, school or college mates, etc.
I am Asian. I am Chinese.
When I talk with Caucasians, I tend to go onto Auto-mode sounding so British, having lived in England a section of my life...........lol.
When I talk with local people, I sound just so locally Asian unless if and when I talk with those who are ''English-educated'' like I am........was.........whatever.
So, it takes all kinds.........and perhaps the kinds you came across were just trying to impress you... :)
