I am on an academic probation where I can be randomly drug/alcohol tested during school. I have not used drugs in several months, so that is not an issue. However, the officer at the school claims that blood tests can detect whether or not alcohol has been consumed in the past week. Is this true, or is it a scare tactic? From the research I've done on it, it seems 24 hours of sobriety will completely clear your system from even the heaviest of drinking nights. So if I were to consume a combination of 12-15 beers/shots on a Saturday night, is it safe to say my body would be 100% clean on a Monday morning?

it takes approximately 1 hour for the liver to process 1 unit of alcohol. 1 pint = nearly 2.5 units @ 7% strength.
1 shot = 1 unit @25 mls, so do the math and work it out! your drinking loooooads! but about 24/5 hours it works at for the liver to process it, but then it still goes round your body in minute doses for time afterwards, just drink less nearer a day at school. youd probably be better drinkin fri night. hope this helps

Depends what the blood test is looking for.

ETOH might well be clear of your sysyem, but markers like Gamma GT might be around a bit longer.

Will have to check that.
