I've heard that there are certain verses in the Koran and also some Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which exhort Muslims to die for the cause of Allah or any other noble cause. Can you please enlighten me in this regard?

there is NO surah / aya, or hadith for the beloved prophet(peace be upon him), that calls for terrorism, islam doesn't call for terrorism at all.

while , the death for ALLAH(GOD)and as U SAID ANOTHER NOBLE CAUSE is quite another thing , u mean like " jihad",
Jihad simply means "struggle", or struggle in the way of God. Jihad includes a spiritual struggle that takes place in the soul of man against his own lust, greed and other evil passions.

The better known aspect of Jihad is fighting for self defence, or for the establishment of justice, for the safeguarding of freedom etc. Islam views this fight as the last option, taken up only when all other courses are closed(and not ofcourse with th innocent ppl). There is a misunderstanding propagated by vested interests that Islam wants its adherents to fight against Non-Muslims. This is not true.
but islam doesn't justify terror in any any forms .

i wish i clarified this misunderstanding.

peace.

I know that the fundamentals of Islam are beneficial to humanity and the whole world. There is not a single fundamental of Islam that causes harm or is against the interests of the human race as a whole.

Many people harbour misconceptions about Islam and consider several teachings of Islam to be unfair or improper. This is due to insufficient and incorrect knowledge of Islam.

If one critically analyzes the teachings of Islam with an open mind, one cannot escape the fact that Islam is full of benefits both at the individual and collective levels.

Islam is derived from the word ‘salaam’ which means peace. It is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world.

Nothing justifies acts of terrorists. Quran states: "he who kills a person intentionally, will burn in blazing fire". End. This allows no argument. This is what they R doing, killing those who have not harmed them. Who gave them this right?
If they say, God told us to kill non-believers, God was not speaking to them. God did not order Mohammed (pbuh)to fight until non-believers plotted to kill Mohammed then gathered an army to wipe out all Muslims. Do U think God would let them wipe out Islam when it just started? Whatever U read a phrase like: "kill them" it is for Mohammed to urge fellow Muslims to fight back non-believers CHARGING AT THEM, not for us to do so at any time. Fighting in battle/self defense is allowed. Killing by mistake (shooting a person in a hunting trip) can be forgiven with some conditions.
The good cause you mentioned is PROTECTING ISLAM or DYING FOR YOUR BELIEVES. Infidels were torturing Muslims (weaker ones) forcing them to denounce Islam.

The terrorists are criminals and thats it; you cannot blame a religion because of the acts of stupid idiots.

You can read in the Quran chapter 60 verse 8 and 9 :

8 : "Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity."
9 : "It is only as regards those who fought against you on account of religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and helped to drive you out, that Allah forbids you to befriend them. And whosoever will befriend them, then such are the wrong-doers."

No verses are responsible for the "Terrorism " as you say... People just twist their mind to think that way

It all goes back to Ishmael in the Bible. Read where Ismael's mother Hagar and he are in the desert and Hagar prays to God to not let her son die in the desert, Read what God says about Ismael's descendants. If I wrote it, some Muslim would probably report me for slurs

I think it has more to do with the failure of modern Islamic societies than it does of the religion itself. Islam was once at the forefront of scientific knowledge and exploration, mathematics etc.. it's sad what has become of it,
