I would agree very much with that quote. The Dali Lama is a great man of peace. I do disagree with him on theological matters, but that doesnt change the fact that he is a good man of moral caliber and has a genuine love for people.

In life one gets opportunities very rarely which would reallly help the other person to come out from his woes. But at least we need not harm anyone for our personal benefits. When a strength of character is built on this moral, the world will be a place of peace since when there is no harm done, why people will look for help. Most of the requirements would have been met when they don't get harmed.

I have a lot of time for the Dalai Lama. His statements always make good sense. Have you read his instructions for the 21st Century? They are great, and show that this man is not just very wise, but also has a wonderful sense of humour. He is, in my opinion, the most genuine figurehead of a belief in incarnation today.

It's a little dumb in my opinion, if anything we should be moving apart to give eachother room to breath and even though we should help eachother out as nieghbors there isn't any reason that we shouldn't retaliate when we are harmed. Pacifism is a nice on paper and in words but in the real world we need to be a little aggresive sometimes to show others that we aren't push overs and if they hurt our friends and loved ones that they are gonna get hurt in return.
