recently there was a nes article in "the times of India" daily paper,
that the ingtriedients are not uniformly distributed in a tablet and the main medicine is mixed with binding agents, so breaking a tablet into two or grinding it into powder form does not reduces the dose concentration(i.e. gm per volume)rather in some cases like ibrufane , it can be harmful to intake broken tablet.
better consult a doctor

Folic acid is a water soluble B Vitamin, so any excess quantity you consume will be expelled from the body via urine; thus you can not 'overdose' on folic acid. However any substance imbibed in excess can be harmful to the kidney and/or liver. Tablets are fairly standardized as far as weight and their concentrations throughout their volume so it is safe to assume that by cutting the tablet in half, you will receive half the dosage.

It is best to ask a pharmacist this question. My personal opinion is just to stay with the muti-vitamin until you find out when you are pregnant-then you will probably get a pre-natal vitamin prescription from the ob.
Also, if you take the regular multi-vitamin, you will get more than folic acid, and folic acid is naturally found in dark green, and green leafy vegetables. So brocolli, grean leaf lettuce, romain lettuce are good sources as well. Just please don't go overboard on folic acd. Nor on any vitamin. A multi-vitamin/multi-mineral--one tablet per day is sufficient. Plus, just please eat as good and healthy a diet as you can. Take care.

NO. do no longer try this. some pills are designed so which you will decrease them in 0.5 in case you may desire to, yet maximum are actually not. there is not any thank you to assure which you have become precisely 0.5 of the lively factor. The folate is probably no longer calmly dispensed interior the direction of the compounds that make up something of the pill, and you may finally end up getting lots extra or much less folate. it is likewise ultimate to no longer take the entire pronounced daily dosage in a supplement, as you may no longer account for the incidental intake of folate on your weight loss plan.

Some pills are made to be cut/broken in half and others are not. If there is any doubt at all that this is NOT one that is meant to be cut...don't do it! Buy yourself a lower dosage, it truly is the safest way.
