Who says you have to choose? Vedism/Hinduism doesn't make the claim that you have to change religions. I know many people who would consider themselves Christian and Hindu. They honor Jesus as their ishtadev (personal name/form of God), but use a Hindu mode of practice (japa meditation- repeating a divine name of God..in this case Jesus...over and over while counting it with a mala/prayer beads). They still value the teachings of Jesus, but incorporate spiritual practices from Hinduism/Vedism. When it comes to interpretating/deciphering between the two, it is done a case by case basis (with regards to theology...some aspects of Vedic theology/philosophy is accepted because it is more aligned to their own personal spiritual experiences while others from Christian theology/philosophy are accepted because those are more aligned to their own personal spiritual experiences). Many of these folks usually do not self identify strictly as Christians. In fact that I know of many either say they are Hindu (since Hinduism is able to embrace them more), but I have met a few that go by neither title. In the Progressive Hindu Association there are a few Jesus ishtadev folks as well as others. Thus do not worry about this complication. While I honor Jesus (called Yeshu/Jeshu amongst most Hindus) as a great guru and not exclusively as my ishtadev, I have met many others who see Yeshu as their ishtadev as well as a great guru and an avatara of God. In the myriad that is Vedism/Hinduism/Sanatana Dharma there is room for many ishtadevs. Afterall, each of us looks upon the infinite God from a different perspective/angle. Remember that the Rig Veda states "There is one God, but humanity calls It many names." (RV 1:164.46). If you choose to call God Jesus and chant that divine name then that is your choice and God will use whatever religion to help guide you back to God and no matter what name you call God by, God will still hear you. The divine spark within us connects us to God and God embraces us all. Thus there is no need to choose between either, but if you do feel the need to choose one then just pray to God for guidance and trust God to help make whichever path God can use best with you to guide you ever closer to God, back to God. Whether it is Christianity or Vedism/Hinduism...God will know what path is right for you, just pray to God and let Him guide you.
Great question.
Peace be with you.

I don't know enough about Vedism to advise you. I know enough about humanity to state that you should follow your own path and do what you feel is the right thing for you in each moment.
If the two choices you are torn between are Vedism and Christianity....then choose the road less travelled or choose the road well paved and easy to walk. You decide which is which.
(also brought up Christian....haven't gone back yet).
Peace!

why not ??why not study all religions, or at least read synopsis's of them , knowledge is every ware, just because your parents chose Christianity for you , doesn't make it your religion, look in side and meditate, and see what you are lead to . peace

If you was brought up Christian, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.
Jesus said there would be false doctrines, false Christ
Test the spirit to see if it is God or a seducing spirit sent to destroy you.
you can have any experience in God that they imitate
where do you think all these minds come up with all that??
It's just a copy of God

NO! It is not cool.. We can only choose one way or another. God laid down his life for us. He wants us to be obedient to his word. There is all kinds of things out there that the devil is using to try to pull us away from Jesus Christ. BUT once you have recieved Christ as your Lord and Saviour you will begain to see god draw you closer to him. It is not about the religion it is about having a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ. So in easier words don't be conformed to this world of wicked but be ye transformed by the renwing of your mind it saids in the Bible. Don't let this world choose where your going, Don't let those other wicked books choose where your going LET God choose where your going and you will find you will go far in life and be prosperous. So seek God with all your heart and surround yourself with people who have a true relationship with God if not then get out of that friendship as soon as possible.
I hope I helped you I believe God has something great instore for you but to recieve it you have to be obedient to his WORD. BE BLESSED!!!!
