Do you have to tell the person you're dating that you're dating other people as well? Would you be at fault if you don't tell them? You can always justify that all these people are your friends.Do you have the prerogative to know if the person you're dating is seeing other people too? What elements go into a meeting for it to be considered as a date, in that sense of the word?

"Dating"-is when your in a relationship, but going out is when you go on dates (either to a movie or to lunch etc-u don't necessarily have to be seeing the individual) When you're in a relationship with someone you should always lay down the foundation of how u want the relationship to go (if both you and he desire to go out on dates with other people then make that known-just make sure there is no double-standardness). There should be open lines of communication (so talk about what may be bothering you and vice verca-if u don't like the fact of eachother dating then don't) if both parties realize that the date is just a date and that there is nothing more, then there is no problem.

It is a date if you are intereseted on a romatic level, otherwise it is just friendship. I wouldn't consider a date as a commitment to a relationship, so you can date as many people as you like and you don't to tell the people you are dating anything. However if dating an individual lasts longer then probably 4 or more dates it is starting to be considered a bit of a commitment....you should clarify then your intention of being exclusive with them or that you are still enjoying being single in the dating scene. (Friends with benefits)

traditionally dating means a guy asks a girl out on a date if the girl likes him then she goes out with him after the second or third or whatever they can decide to go steady meaning become gf/bf and exclusive meaning they can't date anyone else. today dating means if you wanna be in the company of someone else you can take them out on a date. since dating is not a commitment or exclusive then you don't have to tell anyone that you are dating other people but if you intend to get into a deeper relationship with that person then it is best to inform him that you are also seeing other guys. dating is just a stage people go through to get to know each other and enjoy themselves, clearly if it was succesful you get a phone call and a second date. you can tell anyway if your date likes you more than a friend, it's up to you after that. dating means platonic things too. you can take your dad to a concert and say he is your date.

Dating is going out with someone that your interested in. And if you are dating someone and dating other people at the same time you should tell them. It lets them know that you are not serious in this relationship. Plus you should give them the same respect that you would want them to give you. If you thought you and someone were exclusive and seen them out with someone else wouldn't your feelings be hurt? Just be honest. And a date can be many different things. Many people have lunch, dinner, movie, even workout, etc dates with people that are their friends people that know there is no chance of anything else. I know women that have dates with their girlfriends to go shopping, & get their nails done, stuff like that. But they aren't "girlfriends" their just friends.

Dating is different because you are hoping for sex.
You should let your date know that you are dating others as well.
Yes you would be at fault for not telling them. People assume that they are potentially special to you if you are dating.
Darn right you should know if the other person is dating.
Well, if you say, "Hi. Would you like to go on a date with me?" That's usually a date giveaway.
