In the Beginning (it's the only place to start)
Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden of eden, God talked with them.
When Adam and Eve sinned (by eating the forbidden fruit)
They were no longer able to be in close relationship with God, and none of their children were born in close realtionship with God.
Thus we are separated from God from the very first day we are born until the day we choose to become born again.

That's a bit of an undertaking there. It takes a while for the psychological conditioning to kick in and for a person to realize that they're no longer accountable to god and that their life is their own. But believe me, it's a load off of your shoulders when it does. You have to condition yourself the way the other religions do to take sole responsibility for yourself. Takes a while, took me a few years to get to the point where it felt natural.

We were separated from God because of Adam's sin in the garden of Eden. But Jesus has provided us the way back to God.

We walk away from God , he has never left us. Sin is what separates us from God but lots of other little distractions can distract us and leave little time for God.

You get separated from God when you do not ask for forgiveness
and you reject the free gift of salvation. that is the way you can be ssepareted from God.

The simple answer to this question is by sin.
A better explanation is by desires to do things that dishonor God or bring us to a point where we are disobedient to God.
God created mankind to fellowship with him. His word tells us that God can not tolerate sin... therefore if we are active in sinful lifestyles... we are not in fellowship with him.... seperation

Some say that we were born on Earth to fulfill a purpouse.Others say that we are on Earth to suffer and must regain our status
as being with God.Both sort of mean the same thing.

By rejecting Christ, since God already promised that he will forget all our iniquities (sins and punishments) after Christ crucified...
if there's no Christ, then the thing to separate us and God will be Sin..
