What do you consider a high dose and how often are you taking it or is it the extended release form? How long have you been on it and have you taken it before? Also what do you expect it to do for you? If you have been taking it for at least a week and it isn't helping you may need to call your doctor to see if he wants to wait a while or if he wants to try something else.

well, i don't know what your daily dosage is...most of the ppl i know who've been on ritalin say they feel much better within a day or two...as in better able to concentrate. my son was on 90 mg/day at one point, which is a high dosage, and caused him to become very agitated and increased his other problems. talk to your doctor, there are newer drugs that are much better than ritalin, and not as addictive. good luck with this.

What happens if I overdose?
Symptoms of a Ritalin overdose include agitation, tremors (shaking), muscle twitches, seizures, confusion, hallucinations, sweating, flushing, headache, fast or irregular heartbeat, large pupils, and dryness of the mouth and eyes. Seek emergency medical attention
