your mom is infected with a virus, her immune system is trying to fight it so that is whats causing the fever and body pain. when i had the chicken pox at age 5, i was also ill with a fever and body pains, there is not much difference if your older besides a higher white blood cell count and better immune system.

Is your mum on antiv virul meds, I have the pox at the moment (im 29) and spent a few days in hospital. i thought i was dying from the pain and they finaly gave me some decent pain killers (im pregnant so i have to be careful what i have) and it eased the pain. Im till having fever which is the body trying to fight the infection.
My doctor gave me antivirul meds as its worse for adult to have the pox can lead to brain inflamation. It alo helped with the spots, i thought i was going to have heaps but they seem to be disapearing. Unlike my poor 7 yrold who has so many spots.

Try pain meds they should help with fever too, i also had cold wet face washers. Cool bath or shower (sit on a chair in shower) may help to cool her down.

I am not sure. If you live in Victoria you can call:
1300 - 60 - 60 - 24
It's a government medical hotline with qualified nurses.
I hope that helped!
