it must be fiberglass because it is a strength issue. Also is does kevlar wet out as clear as glass or is it always yellow.

Fiberglass is a substrate, not a resin. When you are building a composite structure the substrate (Fiberglass, Kevlar, Carbon Fiber, etc.) provides the strength, while the binder keeps the substrate in its shape. My personal favorite Clear Resin is West Systems Epoxy hardened with the extra clear hardener. It mixes up yellow but hardens clear. And no, Kevlar is translucent yellow when it is wetted out with resin, plus it is more flexible than glass, which is more flexible than carbon.

if you're in an area where you can get to a surf-shop or where boards are built get in touch with them and find out what they're using.ultra clear and strong.an outfitter may have it if no availability of surf shops.
