What is happening to all of us?

I'm worried about what is happening to people. I had read lots of questions and comments about hating to immigrants. Don't do they realize that the US is formed by immigrants since it’s begin? Don't you see that we all are the same? It doesn't matter where are they coming from, we are human beings. We don't have learned anything about our history; we all are a bunch of hypocrites that criticizes discrimination and we are the first to discriminate people. Please be just little coherent with what you think and what you do.

White Knight: let me tell you something, I'm a US citizen and I have Mexican citizenship because I'm studying in Mexico, so I don't need a "green card", indeed in Mexico it doesn't exist so please read and get informed before write.

we don't hate immigrants. we just want the illegals to be legal. if their not going to be legal then they should go home. they are draining are system. they don't pay taxes like we do. the Americans that are able to work is doing all they can do to support the system the illegals are taking from. what are the American who are 61 and younger going to do when we retire. the funds will not be there for us. all i can say is please be legal when coming here. if your visa runs out. then renew it, or go home.

We're all just voicing our opinions here, that's the beauty of America and having the use of the internet.

It's hypocritical to say that there is a problem with the comments people post when it's really an exercise of our legal right to our freedom of speech.

Also...real history lesson:

Yes, America was created by immigrants...you're right. Immigrants who killed Indians and enslaved blacks.
So isn't it better we talk badly about immigrants rather than do any physical harm to them?

It's unfortunate, but you need to be told...kind of like Santa wasn't real...that we are NOT all equal. We are all human beings but will never EVER be equal because we don't all live the same lives, grow up in the same country or live in the same neighbourhood...every little thing and different experiences in our lives shapes us into who we are, different and unequal, biased, opinionated and some: cruel.

Maybe, you should consider not reading those posts...you have the freedom to do that.

And don't worry...it's all just talk. We're all just venting...we're all computer nerds and addicted to voicing our opinions anonymously on the internet.

What is happening is people are coming illegally and so are the criminals with them. So how many illegals do you want here, their are about 100 thousand Chinese waiting to get in, or 2or3 hundred thousand Africans want in, 100 million south Americans want in, So how many is enough for you. 500 million illegals not tested for disease, don't half to learn English, getting food stamps, and other services they are closing hospitals now, are border schools are suffering, just how many is do we let in before we say enough, 80 hospitals have closed so far from treating illegals. will if we let in more then more will close, how high do you want our taxes to go to support all the illegals you want in. Please let us no when you think it will be enough. All countries let in immigrants and all countries have limits on how many a country can absorb at one time. We have got to put a stop to this, if we should let anyone in it should be the ones that have done it legally. Not illegals.

The hate is unnecessary, it clouds judgements and blinds us to the truth.

That said, your premise is flawed because:

1.) you are for breaking your own country's laws (in less forgiving countries you would be considered a traitor).

2.) This is not the 17th and 18th centuries anymore, the time of mass settlements and colonization is over. The US is now an established nation with a citizenry and written laws, not a wild place where anyone can just claim anything.

3.) Discriminating people according to race, religion, language whatever (a favorite tactic of most people here) is just plain stupid. Just the same the law is the law and crime is crime.

When our country was young we needed immigrants. Where have you been hiding? We are being invaded by economic terrorist. Wake up. Things have changed. The USA is the "LIFE BOAT" of the world and we are full to capacity. What good does it do to take on more survivors if we all perish. Stand up as an American or apply for a green card in Mexico and see how they treat you. Good Luck.

Legal immigrants deserve to be here and Illegal aliens do not. There is no hypocrisy in following the law before you. Why should illegal aliens be given breaks at all? The bottom line is that they are criminals, nothing more or less.

good point. Most of the people making all these grand pronouncements do not have the intelligence or education to seriously address the question of immigration in it;'s totality knowing the economic, social and future ramifications of what they theorize and propose.

I agree, the hate is alarming. What happened to "Bring us your poor, your huddled masses....." as written on Lady Liberty. Our country is made up of many races and nationalities and we seem to be forgetting that. Maybe our outlook will change in 2008.

If you had read those comments and questions more carefully, you would see that it is the ILLEGALS that are being talked about. If you are legal, then great!
