Hi,
you received a good number of tips already, but I will tell you what I usually do. You probably want also an easy way.
I use a large oven bag to roast a turkey. This prevents the bird from drying out. It gets a nice brown surface, it is crisp and cannot burn. You do not need to baste it. It also leaves you with a generous amount of liquid for a very tasty gravy.

Prepare the oven bag as instructed on the package.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

In the bag go some carrots, one or two pieces of garlic, one or two medium onions. I also add celery and leek, to give the gravy a richer flavour.

Rub salt and pepper, and other spices if you wish, into the bird's skin and place it, breast up, onto the veggies in the bag.

Add a cup of water.

Close the bag and make one or two small incisions so the steam can escape.
Put the bag in a pan with a rim and place it in the oven.

The roasting time depends of the size of the turkey.

Once the turkey is done, take the pan out.
Open it at the top and carefully take the bird out and put in on a serving plate.
Pour the liquid into a saucepan, bring it to a boil and talste it.
You might add chicken stock and some water to get more gravy.
Thicken it with flour dissolved in some cold water, and, when it has come to a boil again, pour it through a sieve. Discard the vegetables.

You should try this.
It is easy, does not need a lot of work, and it cooks all by itself.

Asparagus-Turkey Wraps with Roasted-Pepper Mayonnaise:

To save time, you can use bottled roasted red bell peppers.

24 asparagus spears
1 red bell pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/4 cup light mayonnaise
4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
4 romaine lettuce leaves
8 (1-ounce) slices cooked turkey breast
2 cups alfalfa sprouts

Preheat broiler.

Snap off the tough ends of asparagus. Steam asparagus, covered, 2 minutes or until crisp-tender.

Cut bell pepper in half lengthwise; discard seeds and membranes. Place bell pepper halves, skin sides up, on a foil-lined baking sheet; flatten with hand. Broil for 10 minutes or until blackened. Place in a zip-top plastic bag; seal. Let stand 15 minutes; peel. Place the bell pepper, honey, juice, salt, and ground red pepper in a blender; process until smooth. Combine bell pepper mixture and mayonnaise in a small bowl.

Warm the tortillas according to the package directions. Spread 1 tablespoon of the mayonnaise mixture evenly over each tortilla. Layer each tortilla with 1 romaine leaf, 2 turkey slices, 1/2 cup sprouts, and 6 asparagus spears; roll up. Serve with remaining mayonnaise mixture.

Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 wrap and about 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise mixture)

Upside down! Place your turkey breast down in a roasting pan, cover tightly with foil and cook according to butterball.com timetable. It will be wonderfully juicy but you won't have a turkey to put on a platter to carve at the table. My husband would rather die than be expected to carve the turkey anyway.

I've tried Alton Brown's turkey recipe where he brines it for a day then roasts it in the oven. It was juicy and delish. You can find the reicpe on the food network website.

Haven't tried it, but I have nothing but rave reviews with fried turkey. I would love to try it, but I'm afraid of making it.

If its frozen give it a week to unthaw .wash it off real good inside and out and put your hand in the neck and behinde and get rid of all that stuff so you dont cook it .Then pat it dry butter it up real good and put your stuffing in and put in the oven .Half way through baking it keep poking it and pour the juice over it nd put pinapples and syrup on top with a toothpick.The best way I evey cook it was starting it at night and letting it cook all night .the bags are real nice to.

Take out the giblets place on foil in roast tin stuff with fav stuffing put rashers bacon all over cover with foil coo 20min to the 1lb add extra to cover for stuffing when juice runs clear take foil off and pop back in oven to crisp for about 20-25 mins

twice, my dad has deep fried a whole turkey. It's the greatest tasting turkey ever. It's moist and so good. If you want to know how he does it, I can ask him and let you know tomorrow. It's so good. Whenever we bake turkey, it ends up dry in places. Fried turkey is so good. I can't wait for thanksgiving.

Coat it with oil, dust it with flour and put it in a brown paper bag,crimp shut,then cover with a lid or foil and roast the recommended time per the weight of the bird. Don't check it, until the time is up, your turkey will be golden and juicy. Good luck.

start with a thawed or fresh turkey. not frozen. wash it inside and out. remove the bag of organs. put it in a pan, tent it with foil, bake 325 until 180 degrees internal temp. let set before carving.

one of the best turkey I've ever had was based in coca-cola and cooked in a cooking bag. it sounds weird but it was really good. sorry I don't have the recipe.
