If you are able to take a class in the language you want to learn. Watching TV and listening to music in whatever language you are learning is good also. Best thing to do is actually try to read and speak the language you are learning .
Almost every major city has a meet up that you can find on line just do a search on your zip code and then by language then by which language you want to join up for.

Take classes, but as practice, read the newspaper ( or on-line news articles ) in that language. It will help you remember words that you have learned and see how they are used in a sentence.
Listen to music in that language and read the lyrics. TV does help as well. You are learning to talk again, it takes time, but is also very rewarding to be able to comunicate in a second language.

If your TV program has subtitles so you can initially understand them, perhaps as the time passes you'll eventually pick up at least basic words and phrases and how to use them.
If you want higher and more formal education for a better command of a language you better take some language classes.

Yes, i watched tv a lot and at first could only understand one word, over the years i began to understand everything. I think it's a great way. As an adult we learn slower so you have to work a little harder.

I am not sure this is the proper section for your question. Does this have anything to do with immigration?
Perhaps you should take a moment and modify your post so it fulfills the spirit of Yahoo and falls within the guidlines they have set forth.
