You should research them, fully, then print them out to show her. Tell her you have read all about them, the good and the bad, and you think they would be better for you than glasses. Good luck.

Ok How old are you? Last year for my son's 16th birthday I got him contacts. It had nothing to do with unsafe etc. My son loses everything. And also I was afraid he wouldn't hygene wise do the right stuff so I knew 16 was a good age. On the other hand it has to do with different maturity levels. have a niece that got them at the age of 13 so just talk to your Mom.
I am sensing that glasses aren't cool antmore.
Good Luck

My little neices make "presentations" when they want something big from their parents. They find out all the information on it, the costs, the pros and cons and all that stuff and then sit their parents down and do a presentation. That way their parents know how serious they are and how much they researched. You should try that! It worked for them when they wanted a puppy! Good Luck!

ask her to let you try them like a trial run. tell her that lots of people use contacts and that they are not unsafe, and the only way they could hurt your eye is by irritating them and that can be fixed by switching contacts or cleaning solutions or using them incorrectly. Tell her you'll be careful with them and ask her to at least let you try them.

She says they are unsafe for you- and you understand- it is not worth getting an eye infection and going blind - or having to have a cornea transplant that may not take- get some cool glasses- or when you are old enough and live on your own go for it- or what about Lasix surgery?? D
