I am sure you asked this in the spirit of fun - because obviously cats should not be fed this much nor should they be fed dog food.

My vet has fussed at me the last couple of times I took my cat in for her annual shots because he says she is too fat. She is a Ragdoll breed and they run big but he still says she is too fat. She weighs 15 pounds.

I have her on dry cat diet food (Hills Science Diet) but using their diet food rather than their regular food has not made a bit of difference. I believe that, just like people, cats are the way they are because of the genes they inherit. I have cousins who are sisters, same father and mother, and one is short and fat and the other is tall and skinny. They were fed the same - just inherited different genes.

Feed your cat good cat food and then don't worry about it. Don't give her snacks.

maybe your cat's body metabolism is slow and thereby all the calories it intakes is stored in the body instead, into fats. just like human, so people doesn't get fat easily though they eat so much because they have faster body metablism. there are people too who eat not as much but has slower metabolism and get fat.
is your cat's parents fat too--maybe it's in the genes. = )

maybe a can of dog food is too much for it too. i like my cat to be fat...like garfield. = )

try to consult your pet's vet. = ) he could explain much better than anyone else unless a vet too. = )
