Ok. My hair was Jet Black. I tried dying it down gradually. This was working but now my mother-in-law wants pics for christmas AHHH. So I went from trying to fix this before my wedding in july to fixing it in two months. I have killed my hair stubbornly. I have now found out the most expensive bleaching wont work. Now after color remover, peroxide and bleaching~> my hair is about to fall out. What an idiot I know haha. MY hair is now hilarious it is white at my roots and brassy for the rest. I have gotten the brassiness lighter. I was told to us brass remover. But what am I going to expect and where to go from there? I have learned color doesnt cover color. No matter what the box says. (Ok when I said my hair is about to fall out it pretty much is and I cut off the ends that you can just pull apart...it is pretty much like elastic. DONT TRY THIS I WILL TELL YOU NOW HAVING BLACK HAIR ISNT WORTH LOOSING YOUR HAIR LATER. Dying your hair black stains your scalp anyways.

Well I died my hair black a long time ago cause it was a get back at mom thing. I have since then just been dying it the same cause I cant afford going to the salon (60 bucks or more vs. $4). I dont want to have black hair in my engagement and at my wedding. I wanted to get rid of it a long time ago. I dont want to say WHAT WAS I THINKING on a day I cant replace.

ouch! scary stuff. as a hairdresser i would recommend regular moisture and protein treatments to start with and to just keep toning the brass out gently. the only other thing i can suggest is to tint the roots to match the depth of the end, maybe to a biege or caramel. remember that the more you colour your hair the more porous your hair will get and the less your hair will hold the colour. a viscious circle. i would really recommend spending the money to see a professional and get them to do it for you. the only other advice i can offer you is: if your hairdresser is willing to colour the crap out of your hair to the point where it is jelly and snapping she/he does NOT have your best intrests in mind and you should find another stylist. one that isn't afraid to be honest and say no.

This one is going to be tough. You have over processed your hair, and literally fried it. So the 1st thing we need to do, is get your hair stronger and healthy. Use a clarifying shampoo and a deep conditioner. And possible a hot oil treatment.

To remove color that was put in the hair, you need to use a "stripping" kit. Not the ones that say your hair will be the blondest of blondes.. but an actual kit that strips your hair color. After using this product, your hair is pretty much clear. Then you want to go over that with a blonde color.

Def. keep your ends trimmed, and saturate that hair with oils and conditioners... it needs to be revitalized.

If that fails, there is something called a hairnet weave. Your current hair is cornrowed, and the weave is then sewn to a hairnet, and then sewn to your own hair. Its pretty awesome actually.

Good luck!

I did this, different than my organic hair colour is a grimy blonde, and that i went from black to blonde hair in decrease than a year. start up off via putting blonde foils/streaks via your hair. in case you attempt to dye it unexpectedly it particularly is going to wreck your hair and probable bypass orange. You cant die your hair from black to blonde with out it taking some months, so dont even attempt. you will harm your hair in case you do. So after a month, placed greater foils/streaks via in a blonde colour. you're able to try this your self at abode, you are able to prefer somebody else that can assist you. So save doing this and your hair gets lighter, after approximately 3 months, your hair ought to have a competent volume of blonde in it, so attempt do an throughout gentle brown hair colour. as quickly as you have carried out that save doing foils then after some months bypass a lighter colour yet returned.

You need a professional to tone your hair for you and match your roots to the rest of your hair.

As you have, literally, fried your hair, you need to grow it out and have regular trims until all of the damaged hair has been cut off. This is going to cost you money but it's better this solution than having a bald, tufty head in your wedding photos.

You may have to rest your hair until it grows out alittle before you can do anything with it. They have so many cute short styles now. I have done the same thing you done. My hubby said I had technicolored dandruff...ha ha Have you thought about wearing a wig when you have to go out or have your picture taken? Hey try to cheer up. Thank god hair does grow back!! Hey they have alot of cute hats out there and scarves so get talented and see what you can do..Now I have left my hair growing out natural and ppl ask me where I have it highlighted and Its pretty gray with dark brown and I say the man upstairs does it! ha Good Luck!

I have never had black hair, but I did color mine pink about a month ago on accident. If bleaching and color remover won't work, I think you are going to have to resign yourself to getting a sexy, short cut and letting your hair grow back in.

My hair is naturally blonde, but i keep dying it black..about 3 months ago (not even) i decided to go blonde again. my advice, head to the salon, and tell them you need it coloured nicely and fast..

maybe it wont be as nice as your natural colour, but it is worth it. the stage it sounds like you are up to would just mean they use toners on the brassy bits and dye it just a little darker... trust me, i'm about to become a hairdresser myself...

after all this talk of black to blonde i think i might do it again very very soon.....

ouch.....never ever color it black-maybe brown but not black because it is so hard to take off! I would get a short hair cut and just leave it alone, and it will gradually get better...but hey it could be a lot worst u know

leave your hair alone for a while.. there is nothing that you can do yourself that will fix it. you need to go to a perfessional. you can go a brown or your natural colour and then stop colouring it.. it will fall out. use a good deep conditioner for a few months and then you might be able to try again.. but until then dont do anything with it colour wise
