First of all, do I have a choice, other than having it changed legally? Next, I was 6 days late in coming into the world. My parents did not know if I was a boy or a girl and could not think of any names. They layed awake one night and finally decided on names for both genders. Mom went into labor right after that and I was born 4 hours later...just waiting for a name. And yes, I do like my name:)

I used to hate my name, Melissa, but I have had 38 years for it to grow on me. My daughter hated her first name, Megan, and wanted to go by Lizzy. Her middle name is Elizabeth. She used to say she was going to get it legally changed when she turned 18. That is 10 months from now. I don't think ANY kid likes their name when they are young. Very few, anyway.

When I was growing up I hated it but the older I get I like it so much more. I get so many people everyday that say they like it. I names my daughter a name I thought was very ordinary for this reason and she hates it. I must say I wish I would have named her something unique.

Yes I do. My father chose my name. I was named after his grandmother who he was really close to as a child. She died 10 years before I was born. I didn't reallt like my name until my dad told me why he gave me this name.

My name is ivelisse. As a little girl I didn't, I always had to explain the pronunciation...so my name has been butchered several times. As I got older I embraced the uniqueness.

Its a really boring common name, my mother had a weird name so she was against different names. I gave my son a not so common name so that he could not be pre-judged by it. He gets sick of repeating it though. Naming a baby is soooo hard.

My first name is Lee. I'm female. When I was younger, I used to try different spellings for it, but I always got into trouble for it. I learned to live with it, but I occasionally get calls and mail addressing me as Mr.!! I still snicker at that.
P.S. It's easy to spell!
