i don't know about sona musoori but i know few Maharashtrian rice types which are very good for regular use like Basmati.The names of rice are Indrayani & Ambemohor.cooks very soft but remains hole grain & haves different & attracting aroma.

What ever the brand of rice it is ,to get good cooked rice , soak the rice in water(1:2) for half an hour and cook.You get best cooked rice

in general rice is not fit for daily use and one should eat more wheat daily and keep oneself healthy

there are lot varieties rices available ,not alone basamathi.in basamati alone there are heritage from dawat,and kihinoor rice availabel.
