Blood transfusion is for saving lives. lts like a person donating one of his organs to help someone live a normal life. l know all about the belief of Jehovah's Witness since my husband has relatives belonging to that religion. No amount of persuasion is good for them to change their mind. Better accept that we are all different and just respect other's belief.

I am a Jehovah's Witness and just wanted to explain why we don't accept blood. The Bible states at Acts 15: . 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.[g] If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.

This command was also given to Noah after the flood. In the Bible, blood is only used for sacrifice. That's why we believe in the blood of Jesus Christ that he shed when he died.

That verse also mentioned from things strangled, so i understand what u mean about not eating blood. However, a human can be fed intravaneously, so it's still the same thing. Another point of interest in our day is that blood can be considered dangerous. I've worked at a hospital and anything dealing with blood waste is put in "BIO HAZARD " bags. I also had a friend who was run into by a truck and his relatives wanted the hospital to give him blood, but he refused even though he was weak and in critical condition. However, he got better and today, u can't even tell his life almost ended.

Many people don't understand our stand on this issue, but just from a medical standpoint, a lot can be done without administering blood. We accept blood expanders and other surgical alternatives and other people are now requesting these procedures, Please understand , that we don't take this matter lightly, but each witness has to make a conscience decision about what they will do in case of an emergency.

Religious laws and beliefs are hard sometimes to understand when you are not of that belief. Many strange conceptions of what is right or wrong exit within the many facets of religion. But, if I am in a live or die situation that requires blood I think I would choose to receive the transfusion. -------Jehovah Witness also do not believe in celebrating Christmas but I've met those that welcome Santa into their homes on that day.

This is more or less peculiar to Jehovah's Witnesses who take Biblical injunctions prohibiting eating blood as a reason not to accept transfusions. Most other Jewish and Christian denominations take it literally

Blood transfusions are fine. They don't go against God at all. He gave us the ability to invent certain things or learn things in medicine and other sciences so why not use them., unless they go against what the bible says. Jehovah witnesses are very strict in a lot of things. They don't believe in celebrating either, but God loves us to celebrate and give praise to Him.

Yes.... it is inadmissible to Jehovah's Witness to have blood transfusion. Our neighbor died because his mother refused to have his transfusion because of her religion. Sometimes we can say that in this aspect religion in not following the basic moral law of saving lives. Quite contrary to what they preach. Right? I am a Catholic Christian and we do not have retrictions with regards to blood transfusion. This may save your life one way of the other. Tell your boyfriend that saving life is more than faith that we believe in.

As a Christian I would be definately going against Gods laws in the Bible if i accepted a blood transfussion here are some Scriptures you can look up in your bible Acts 15:28,29 Gen 9:3,4 Lev 17:11,12 Heb 9;11-14,22 this has been Gods law from the beginning he has never changed it because to him Blood is Sacred .!!!!!!!!!!!!! lets say you had cirrosis of the liver and the dr. told you not to drink any more alchol or it would kill you would you get a fifth of Jack Daniels and pour it into an I.V. and tell the dr I havent has a drop to drink yet your blood alchol is over the limit now our creator knows much more about us than the drs and if he tells us to abstain from blood I will if for some reason I were to ignore his command because i felt like it or a dr told me it was neccessary and it killed me Iwould have died a sinner against God himself Now let me also tell it to you from a medical perspective as i also teach drs alternative medical strategies There is an alternative thatis less invasive less risky and has 0 side effects it a program used world wide called Bloodless Medicine and Surgery where absolutely no blood is used which speeds recovery time and has no post op infections or protracted recovery time is a lot less expensive and 100x safer and can be used by infants and the elderly as well some of the successfull surgeries poerformed are open heart , brain surgery, amputations, total removal of cancerous organs , lung surgery and also the usual types like labor and delivery as well as neo-natal and we have also successfully operated on people who due to trauma have lost over 80% of their total blood volume with all the medical advances most up to date drs prefer to use this program instead of the old antiquated methods used in the past there is so much more i could tell you but you probably wouldnt understand the medical lingo now to tell you something most drs and hospitals and blood banks dont tell you sources of blood most get blood from transients abd other who will sell blood for cash and most plasma centers run 3 basic tests CBC , protine and prothrombin levels and mabey test for one form of HIV there are hundreds and the virus keeps mutating it could lay dormant for weeks or months up to 2-5 years then strike with a vengance here is another example how long can you hold your breath 1-3 minutes max after that you pass out and the autonomic system takes over in 5-6 minutes you are comatose and after that you are dead at norm temp slightly longer at a state of torpor well a cell esp a RBC can hold it for a few seconds a minute tops if it is really super healthy then it dies and all that is left is disease so there youset in a plastic air tight bag for hours days weeks months untill needed however all that is pumped into the person is live diseases and they are already weak and so are overwhelmed by diseases like Hiv Karposis Sarcoma a form of Cancer Hepatitis types ABC or any other disease like sickle cell tay sachs ect upward of 500plus diseases you can get not to mention the genetic predisposition to all kinds of things and allerfies you never had before assuming the rh factor doesnt harm you it is a big money making buisness you buy it from a transient for 10-20$ then sell it to the blood banks for 50-150$ then to the hospital for 150-300 $ then to the patient for whatever the market will bear or their insurance company will pay a tidy profit in the Billions annually they of course dont tell you how many people die from complications due to having a transfussion thought you might like the complete picture as most people only hear one small fraction of a side hope this answers your question best wishes Gorbalizer

He is completely Wrong!! The JWs get that from the dietary laws the
Israelites were under. If you were to not give Blood to your child to
save his life you would be guilty of murder. The Laws given forbidding Blood had to do with EATING IT. Nothing forbids you to receive blood to save your life or your children's lives.Read these verses and tell me what you can't do with blood. [[EAT]] Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 19:26, Deuteronomy 12:16 ,
Deu 12:23,Deu15:23,Eze 33:25,New Testiament Acts15:20,29,Acts21:25 The Blood GIVES LIFE not takes life.
Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
The JW is deceived and can't know his left hand from his right.
