If you are enlisting then the begining date should be all that you would have to worry about. The end date is for when you retire or finish your time in.

I thought that was after you had been in. The date you enlisted and the date you were discharged (I was AF sorry not alot of help)

Well, first off, this inquiry should be one for your recruiter, not an online service. Typically, it means what kind of tour of duty you want. Four years is the minimum.
