There are more than one Mary in the Holy Bible,Mary the mother of Jesus,Mary one of the Apostle mother and Mary Magdalene was from the village from Magda.That is why her last name is Magdalene.Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute,she was from the same village of Jesus Christ,And she had no intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

Although there is NO scripture to back the claim that she was from Magda....I tend to agree with your statement.

It is not Magda, it is Magdala. Mary is known as Mary from Magdala. She was Jesus' confidante and whether she is a lover or not it does not matter. They were both eligible. Mary Magdalene carried more brilliant teachings left by Jesus than her male counterparts.

I agree that the Bible says she's not a prostitute. And being a Magdalene would mean that she is from Magda, yes. But where does it say that Jesus is from Magda? Never heard that one.
