Im 16 and live in indiana, my family is having serious problems.?

Question

i need to leave the house. not permentaly. where are some places i can go minus family and friends (i dont want to drag them in this). i live in south bend,IN

yeeea i was taken out of school to do homeschooling and that didnt work so i dont have a guidence concler.

im not going into foster care and social services is not coming because there is no need. i just need infomation on places in my area where i can go for X ammount of time.

You could go to youth hostels, the YMCA, the Salvation Army. There are lots of choices but are you sure leaving your family is a good idea right now? I don't know what the problem is but usually if you leave before it gets resolved you will never resolve them. I moved out when I was 16 as well and now I haven't talked to my sisters or my parents in 13 years. Weigh your options carefully.

Is there a Boys Town where you live? They take kids on a Temporary basis when there are problems at home and they need a place to stay. Check into it. Also, are there any relatives that you could go stay with temporarly?
What kind of problem is your family having that you feel the need to leave home for awhile? How long do you anticipate being gone?
You say that you don't want to drag family into this...why?
That is what family is for is to help out when there is a crisis.
Don't dismiss them as they can be very helpful when things are going rough.
Another possibility is an organization called TEEN CHALLENGE. They are a religious organization that help out troubled tens and they sometimes have boys/girls homes where kids stay.

I am sorry that you are going through this situation! Check with a local rescue mission, or a church, they would have the resources you need, or a teenage crisis line, call the operator and ask for crisis lines. In our area there is what is called the Oasis Center, it is a teen crisis place that offers housing, there might be one in your area, if not you could call the police for help.

I'm sorry, i know its not proper to ask the awnserers questions, but say if the asker of this question goes to social services, wont they do an investigation and possibly take all the kids to be put in foster care and that would suck (?)

Get a job and move out to your own pad. I did when I was 16 (way back when, Ahh those were the days). But seriously you need to give a little more info than that.

Honestly I can't help you very much with this situation. Have you thought about talking to your guidance counselor at school, they would probably know somewhere you could go until thing cool down. I hope everything turns out alright for you. Best wishes.

Why do you need to move out?
You have to understand at 16 we think we know everything, trust me I ran away at 16, not at 34, I say to myself, was I stupid or what? my answer only one, I was stupid.
MOST parent nag because they want the best for you, as long as they don't incur in anything illegal, you are fine there.
You are a teenager, once you finish college (and please do go to college) and you are on your own, then you'll be faced with the real world and its real problems.
If you need advice, approach a counselor.
